Exciting new project with Treloar School and College

Towards the end of September, Nikki, Alex, Charlotte and Jasmine from The Coalition went to visit Treloar School and College in Alton. We had a tour of the campus and met some of the students about work experience opportunities at The Coalition.

Treloar School and College provide education for physically disabled children and young adults aged 5 to 25 years old. They have on-site accommodation for students, provide professional care, guidance and therapy all within their campus.

On our visit we got to see a large amount of the campus, including the classrooms and facilities. We were welcomed into one of their music lessons, which was in a classroom with relaxing fairy lights and an array of musical sounds from xylophones, a piano and music on digital tablet devices, which created a magical environment.

After our visit to the music classroom, we went to their printing room, where they offer printing services to the local community and businesses. They also provide work experience for their college aged students to develop skills within the printing industry.

We then spoke with students who were in a logo making workshop about our work at The Coalition, our Young Adults Social Group and the work experience opportunities available at The Coalition. It was great to meet the students and discuss the plans for working together. The Communications Team are looking forward to working with our first work experience student who will be assisting with social media, blogging, photography and video content.

We are excited to be working with Treloar’s students and we’ll keep you posted about the project on our social media and blog.
