Meet our swimmers for the Superhero Tri!

Katy – Physical Activity advocate, lover of cold water and exercising in the great outdoors! Katy particularly loves introducing others to the joys of outdoor swimming (in the warmer water, she’s not that mean!) She’s ready to dive right into the party atmosphere at the Superhero Tri and make sure the event goes swimmingly for everyone involved. Her motto is “It’s meant to be fun!”

Superpower – My ability to harness the power of breath to battle sub- zero temperatures and supercharge my positive attitude!

Photo of Rob holding a big beetle!

Rob – Coleopterologist by day (we had to look it up too!) and superhero Ironman in his spare time. When Rob’s not researching amazing beetles, he loves to swim, bike and run! He’s hugely knowledgeable about all things triathlon and can use his experience to calm the nerves of Team Surrey Coalition. We’re all secretly looking forward to learning some super beetle facts too!

Superpower – His super antenna can identify beetles from afar and categorise them by species, habitat, distribution, diet etc!

Photo of Charlotte smiling and holding a very large leaf

Charlotte – Engager, advocate and motorcycle aficionado! Vroom! Get ready to witness the energy of this community-engaging dynamo as they roar into action! Charlotte is trading in adrenaline-fueled motorcycle journeys to embark on a journey across wild waters in the Superhero Tri. They are ready to chase the freedom and thrill of the open water and they’re revved up to leave an impact on the world through the work of the Coalition.

Superpower – Unleashing my ADHD supercharged abilities, I harness my hyperfocus to overcome any obstacle whilst my divergent mind is full of bounded optimism for the journeys ahead.

Photo of Caroline smiling with trees in the background

Caroline – Volunteer Coordinator extraordinaire and team sport champion. Caroline is happiest whilst out walking her dogs or when hitting a ball as hard as possible! Other than splashing at the beach she has never swum in open water, and she is looking forward to the personal challenge of the lake swim at the Superhero Tri as well as the opportunity to help raise funds for the Coalition. We’re sure she will make some waves!

Superpower – I’ll use my team playing powers to support and encourage my teammates and I’m hoping that my love of eating fish will give me some aquatic superpowers!
