Sally Foster

Sally was a member of the Coalition for many years and regularly attended the North Surrey Disability Empowerment network where she was not only able to pass on feedback from lived experience but also from her work as an Occupational Therapist (OT).

During the last two years we were able to get to know Sally through our social programme. Although Sally had a long term illness, she still made it to many of our weekly social activities. Often Sally would be making dinner/lunch and she was always able to make us hungry with her description of what she was cooking especially when it came to desserts. This included brownies and crumbles, she was the queen of puddings! One day Sally had us all dashing to the cupboard/fridge to look for anything with chocolate, as she sat there proudly eating a Mars Bar.

Sally was extremely adventurous, and we heard lots about her theatre trips, trips to Wimbledon for the tennis, her zip wire experience and holidays on her canal boat. In fact, Sally joined us by zoom from the canal boat and we were all able to have a good look around. Sally also loved craft and gave us all a scrapbooking workshop, as this was something she loved.

In short, Sally was a great character and friend to us all. We will miss her and her great sense of humour, but we are all very glad to have known her.
