Tech Angel helps to boost confidence for Tech Member

We spoke with one of our Tech Members about their experience with the Tech Angel’s project.

My first help was with technology was my Tech Angel (TA) who was very efficient – I struggled at first because I am not very efficient! She is the most sweet, gentle human being you could ever meet. She just oozes kindness and gentleness. I look forward to her appointments so much because I’m so on my own and she was such a beautiful natured person – she was an absolute godsend. I don’t think she’s even aware of her beauty – nothing was ever too much for her, she always had a smile, she was a person you could truly trust. I tried to tell her all the time how wonderful she was, and I hope she knows.

I had hoped to be able to use my mobile phone – I am not technically minded at all – I was a nurse for years and years, and looked after my grandchildren for years who are all at university now which fantastic for them! As you get older you don’t want to ask for help from people so much so it was brilliant to have Olivia when she came round.

I have a different mindset now – I bought myself a new computer! I know that you can look up your monthly accounts online for the bank now. Having my time with Olivia has shown me how important  it is – I am trying to join an adult learning class to try and remember the things she taught me. I found it by looking it up on the computer!

[My favourite thing about participating in the project] was that for each visit there was a pleasant lady who came – she was just so pleasant, I would say I had this problem, that problem, she would go through it with me each time! No matter what tech things I needed help with, she would do it, and even did more on top. She always boosted your confidence, it was lovely.
