Alex and Nikki had the pleasure of going to Treloar’s Future Fest on Friday. An event where lots of companies, charities and universities can share all of their information with the Treloar’s students. Nikki tells us about the day.
A big friendly ‘hello’ was the first thing I heard as I walked into Treloar’s School on Friday. One of the intern students at Treloar’s that has been doing some work experience with The Coalition helped us get registered and set our stand set up. Hannah, who has been blogging and carrying out some access all areas visits for us was thrilled to see us and talked very fondly of The Coalition and the work she had been doing for us (photo below).
Throughout the day we spoke to lots of students. We were keen to find out how we can encourage more young people to join The Coalition. The students came up with so many ideas, leaving Alex and I with lots of ideas buzzing around our heads!
Our other interns popped by our stand to say ‘hello’ too. It was lovely to catch up with them and chat about the types of things they’d like to do during their placement with us and how they’d like to get involved with The Coalition too.
There were lots of other charities and organisations at the event. Alex and I spoke to quite a few and we have set up meetings to talk to them in more detail about our work. We also managed to find some cupcakes too…!
It was really lovely to spend the day at the school, the Treloar’s students and staff are a very lovely bunch and I’m delighted we get to work with them!
