Working with Treloar’s and their fantastic students!

It’s been over two years since we started working with Treloar’s and we wanted to fill you in on the latest updates. As mentioned in our previous blogs we work with Treloar’s on internships with their students, and we’re delighted to have Is currently with us on the Communications Team at The Coalition. Is started her internship with us last year and she’s been helping with social media, creating content and filming videos, including interviewing our CEO, Nikki Roberts, and our Co-Chair, Vikki Walton-Cole. Below is the fantastic video that Is created and edited of her interviewing Nikki.

In October last year The Coalition visited Number 10 Downing Street with Treloar’s student Dan and the National Federation of the Blind UK. We delivered a letter telling the government about how dangerous floating bus stops are for blind, visually impaired, disabled, older and vulnerable passengers. It was fantastic to have Dan join us for the trip and support the campaign.

We’ve also been working with a group of artists at Treloar’s who have created a series of incredible and vibrant pieces of artwork for us. The artwork represents The Coalition and our areas of work and will be displayed in our office. Thank you so much to the art students for these masterpieces! A picture of the artwork can be found below.

On Friday 14th February our Involvement Officer Alex and CEO Nikki had a great day at the Treloar’s Future Fest. An event where lots of companies, charities and universities can share all of their information with students at Treloar’s. Alex and Nikki spoke with students about The Coalition and our work, they also saw Is and took the opportunity to get a snapshot together at the event.

Thank you to Treloar’s and their lovely students, we look forward to working together in 2025!
