Surrey Adult Mental Health Alliance (Surrey AMHA) – Advisory Forum

Welcome to the Surrey Adult Mental Health Alliance

Founded in 2022, the Surrey Adult Mental Health Alliance is a collaborative network of mental health and wellbeing support providers dedicated to developing services across Surrey.

Why Collaboration Matters: Our alliance strengthens relationships within the sector, enabling us to share resources, insights, and strategies. This unified approach allows us to respond more efficiently to the needs of our communities.

Join us as we work towards a brighter future for mental health and wellbeing in Surrey!

Our Vision

Everyone in Surrey will have access to welcoming, easy-to-navigate, and timely mental health and wellbeing support either for themselves, their families, or carers. No one should leave a service without the support to get the help they need.

Our Mission

Through partnership working and shared responsibility, we aim to improve, innovate, and develop local mental health and wellbeing support in Surrey. The Alliance prioritises lived experience in our decision-making and serves three key roles: advisory, network, and action.

Our Values

Community-Centred: Integrate lived experience into decision-making.

Collaborative Partnerships: Build a smoother, more connected system.

Shared Learning: Use knowledge and resources from across the network.

Cross-Sector Coordination: Work collaboratively across organisations and sectors.

Bold Action: Drive meaningful change through brave action-taking.

Current Work

What We’ve Been Working On

  • University Student Suicide Prevention: Guided by feedback from Advisory Forum members, we conducted a review to better understand the needs of students, what support is available to them and the challenges they face within the current system. We are now working to secure funding to move this important project forward.
  • Smooth Transition: Board member organisations and wider member organisations reviewed the pathways for individuals who are referred between services and how some people end up receiving a poor service due to this. Our goal is to ensure people receive the help they need without unnecessarily repeating their story.

Why Join? Membership is voluntary and offers you the chance to contribute to meaningful projects and influence mental health support in Surrey.

What We Do: The Advisory Forum meets quarterly (usually via Zoom) to shape the Alliance’s work and inform decision-making. Members can also contribute to additional workshops and focus groups where there are opportunities to receive thank-you vouchers or payment for your efforts.
