Get More Active Get Together – Interactive Darts

Our latest Get More Active Get Together was a fun packed morning of interactive darts at the Light in Redhill. Throughout our feedback sessions for Get More Active, darts has often been mentioned as an activity that our members would like to try. So, we had to make sure that we delivered!

The Light in Redhill is an entertainment and leisure venue that opened in 2023 in the centre of Redhill. It is easily accessible from the bus and train station with blue badge parking a short walk/wheel away. The venue has lots of activities to choose from including cinema, tenpin bowling, axe throwing, adventure climb, mini golf, karaoke as well as our chosen activity interactive darts!

You might be wondering what the difference is between interactive darts and the normal game. Interactive darts takes the traditional dartboard and adds a bit of technology to project images onto the board as well as digitally tracking each throw. The immersive screens guide you through a variety of games and the digital scoring system keeps the game flowing without anyone needing to calculate scores.

We split into two groups and chose a game. Instead of simply playing classic 501, you can try multiple game modes—perfect for mixed ability groups. Whether you’re a darts pro or someone who rarely hits the board, everyone can have fun and have a chance to win a game. Each mini game is quite short so you can try out several different options and there’s no chance of getting bored.

We started with “Disco Wall” where any scoring dart knocks a block out of your wall and the winner is the one who knocks their wall over first. Then we moved onto a space invaders game, which was a bit more complicated but with the system taking care of scoring we were free to just enjoy ourselves. There were cheers when someone hit the bullseye and plenty of laughter when darts landed… well, somewhere unexpected. By the time our session ended, and we were enjoying a well-earned cuppa we were already talking about when we could do this again!
