Nikki and Rachel, the Coalition’s CEO, and Fundraising Lead, were invited by Haidee Thomas, Surrey Museums Engagement Officer at the Surrey Museums Partnership, to speak at their members meeting at the Woking History Centre about their exciting new heritage project, ‘Improving Museum Accessibility beyond Statutory Requirements.’
The Coalition will partner with Guildford Museum, East Surrey Museum and the Rural Life Living Museum to deliver access reviews and disability awareness training, and to upskill their staff and volunteers to champion accessibility. As a result of this project more Disabled people will be able to engage with heritage, and museums will be an even more welcoming and inclusive place to visit.
Rachel Roberts extended her heartfelt thanks to Haidee, for the invaluable support that the Surrey Museums Partnership had given them, to secure the funding for this project.
