Danny Seear

My name is Danny and I’m 48, married to my wonderful wife Sarah for just over six years.

My journey began in 1976.

A few days after I came home from hospital with my mum, she noticed I was sleeping a lot more than a normal new born, and when she was feeding me my milk I would bring it back up again pretty much immediately. Both my parents were worried so took me to the doctor who immediately got an ambulance and I was rushed straight to All Saints Hospital. They did tests and I was transferred to Great Ormond Street Hospital where I was diagnosed with Meningitis.

Over the years I have had several operations to repair a shunt which was inserted into my skull to drain off any excess fluid on my brain.

I joined The Coalition to help others like myself, I have also set up a group on Facebook called Meningitis Matters, this is also to help other people whom are in the same situation as myself.

I've not been out for ages; it was really lovely to get out.
